Med-IAMER project: Stakeholders´consultation of the Adriatic-Ionian ecoregion

Plan Bleu and University of Málaga (ETC/SIA-UMA) organized the first stakeholders´consultation of the Med-Iamer project in Termoli, Italy, October 29, 2014. It took place during the COM&CAP MarInA-Med WG-1 event « What Future for Fisheries in the Adriatic-Ionian Basin? ». This seminar aimed at creating an informal platform bringing together the key stakeholders in charge of shaping, financing, and implementing fisheries and aquaculture policies across the Adriatic-Ionian basin.

The interactive session entitled « Coastal and maritime pressures in the Adriatic-Ionian Basin: Stakeholders’ consultation » proposed to contribute towards that goal through collecting regional stakeholders’ inputs on preliminary results of Med-Iamer project.

Through stakeholders’ consultation, the session aimed to improve the knowledge on the:

  • major drivers and pressures identified in the Adriatic-Ionian region
  • data/indicators needs and gaps
  • most relevant policies and governance arrangements in influencing the level of pressure on resources

The session was in charge of opening stakeholders’ dialogues based on preliminary results of Med-Iamer and was structured in an interactive way with presentations, discussions and Q&A settings. The session was organized with the support of the University of Thessaly and AVITEM.
