The European Commission is glad to invite you to attend the WestMed Stakeholder Conference « Towards an Initiative for the sustainable development of the blue economy in the western Mediterranean« , which will take place on Thursday 2 February 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.
The event is organized by the European Commission in close cooperation with the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean, in the framework of Westmed Maritime Initiative whose Plan Bleu is partner. Bringing together 200 WestMed stakeholders from across the Mediterranean Region, the conference aims to promote an exchange of views among operators in the maritime sector, namely businesses, researchers, institutes, national and local authorities belonging to the Western Mediterranean Countries (Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Tunisia).
The outcomes of the conference will be used to complete the assessment of the feasibility and added value of a possible sea-basin based initiative for the sustainable development of the blue economy in the western Mediterranean.
