Eco-responsability – Workshop « How to monitor the MSSD 2016-2025 implementation? »

According to the UNEP’s Board of Directors’ recommendations and the MAP’s executive coordination committee, Plan Bleu places sustainable development at the core of its events’ organization with practical actions. Meeting these targets implies a long term engagement from Plan Bleu in terms of “green” practices such as reducing printing, using recycled paper and printing double face.

Participants will stay at the Holiday Inn Nice – Saint Laurent Du Var, which uses the IHG Green Engage System: it’s an online tool that gives IHG hotels the means to measure their day-to-day environmental impact. Hotels signed up to the system can track how much energy, carbon and water they’re using and how well they’re managing waste. At the same time they can choose from over 200 activities designed to help them use fewer resources, improve their carbon footprint and reduce their water use.

The use of public transportation is strongly recommended for the invited participants. In this context, Plan Bleu organizes a shuttle between the airport and the hotel.

The carbon footprint: at the end of this workshop, carbon emissions will be accounted for as part of our emitter items’ research (accommodation, travelling, catering…) and carbon footprint development in order to prepare an action plan dedicated to carbon emissions reduction seeked for in the future events.
